About the Department
Sanskar College of Architecture and Planning is in its fourth year and continues to nurture young aspiring minds to conceptualize the architectural wonder and inspires its students to graduate as architect of substance by imparting quality education through innovative teaching methodologies.
We believe in providing a comprehensive education where students are given the best opportunities to develop their creativity, intellectual competence, interpersonal skills, entrepreneurial knowledge, efficiency and leadership quality along with extracurricular pursuits. Duration: 5 Years
a. Only candidates who have the following credentials shall be eligible for admission to B.Arch. Course.
Qualified a recognized aptitude test in Architecture (NATA or equivalent) in 2017 OR qualified in NATA- 2016
b. Have gone through any of the following curriculum with marks as prescribed below:
(i) Secured 50% marks in 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics.
(ii) 10+3 Diploma (any stream) recognized by Central/State Govts with 50% aggregate marks with Mathematics;
(iii) (c) International Baccalaureate Diploma passed/appearing, after 10 years of Schooling with 50% marks in aggregate and with Mathematics as compulsory subject of examination.
c. No direct lateral admission is allowed at any other year/stage of B.Arch. course based on any qualification.

According to current demand for architects, India needs more than 10,000 trained professionals in various government and private organizations. Ample working opportunities are available for architects who have specialization in one segment or the other.
This profession is the meeting ground of art, technology, history, economics, social action and performance based design!
This college encompasses many subject areas which are all concerned with scientific and technological aspects of the design and understanding of various building forms & designs. The following labs and workshops have been established in the department:-
Arts & Graphics Studio
This studio basically helps the students to understand the colours, textures and materials like paints , junk, etc. in the making of sculptures, fountains, murals, product design, etc. that play an important role in the detailing of the design for any space.
The lab helps the students to study the climatic and topographic factors that have to be taken care during site analysis and the designing process with respect to the climatic need for the building.
Surveying & Leveling
It has tools and equipment’s that are used in the surveying & levelling field. With this, the students learn to study the site in terms of its contours and levels, about the obstruction and physical barriers and how to locate them on the site that is to be designed.
It is an open yard with enough space to mix mortars, and the students have an hands on experience in construction of the various building bonds, arches, joints, foundations, etc.
Material Testing Lab
Here aggregates, concrete, cement, bitumen, etc. are tested using various equipment’s like slump testing machines, etc. The lab also has facilities for the soil testing and analysing.
This workshop makes the student understand the joining details, the fixing details, of wooden railings, the making of wooden door/ window frames and a lot more.
Model Making Workshop
The students are able to develop their models that is an important part of their architecture life which teaches them to visualize their design in three dimensions.
This is equipped with different materials that includes tiles, stones, aggregates, etc. This lab is more of a museum where students learn about the texture, function, availability, cost, etc of the material collected in the museum/ lab.
GUINESSE WORLD RECORD – Longest Painting, Meerut
On the occasion of Children’s Day, Sanskar college of Architecture has participated in Guinness world of record for the longest painting. In an attempt to break China’s record, a 1400 meter long canvas was painted. Around, 12 students with faculty from the department has participated in the event.
ZONAL – NASA – 2016
Students of Sanskar college of Architecture has participated in a four day premier architectural convention—from 2-5 November, 2016–attracting Eminent Architects and 1400 students of Architecture from zone 4 , at Manav Rachna College, Faridabad. Students has participated in different events at the Convention featuring seminars, lectures, panel discussions, workshops and many more with the architectural inclination.
BIRLA WHITE YUVA-RATNA 2017
Yuvaratna 2017 was a competition organized by the Aditya Birla Group. The students took part in it and made murals from the materials provided like level plast, white cement, wall putty, pop, etc. The students created the murals by carving them out on gypsum boards.
INTER – DEPARTMENTAL POSTER MAKING COMPETITION
As per the directions by Government of India, Sanskar College of Architecture hold an inter department poster making competition, “Jashan E Azadi” to celebrate 70th Independence Day on 12th August 2016.
SITE WORK AT CONSTRUCTION YARD
The students were taught to the construction techniques in the casting of a column, and was practically demonstrated about how its foundation and masonry joints are made. The students actively participated in the construction of cavity walls and arches.
Delhi Management Association has organized a seminar on Smart NCR 2025 on 14th February 2017. In this session students participated actively to have a clear understanding on the concept of Smart Cities and their working in relation to a architecture.
PAINTINGS & MURAL DESIGNING WORKSHOP
The students designed 3d wall art or mural, that were to be placed in different buildings like war museum, coffee shop, space station, etc. The murals were created using various materials like tissue papers, foam sheet, POP, foil paper, etc. Also the students tried their hands in making different regional paintings of India like Madhubani, Kalamkari, Warli, Mughal, etc.
TEXTILE INDUSTRY VISIT AND SERIGRAPHY WORKSHOP
The students were taken to a textile industry to study the making of screens that are used in printing. The students then printed their own T-Shirts by making their own screen.
CONSTRUCTION SITE VISITS
To have a practical learning, students are generally taken to a on-going sites for a clear understanding of various construction details like Vertical D.P.C., reinforcement of staircase, Casting of a slab, etc.
STUDY TOUR TO UDAIPUR & MOUNT ABU
Students of the first, second and third years are taken on compulsory one week study tour to Udaipur, to study the cultural and historical value. Students are made to understand basic structural built form in this documentation trip for vernacular architecture and are taught with the significance of architectural history in this predominant creative world.
WORKSHOP – ART, DESIGN & ARCHITECTURE
Sanskar college of Architecture organized a one day workshop on art and architecture. The aim was to draw the attention of architecture students towards importance of art history and the analysis of painting, sculpture, and architecture.
GUEST LECTURE – BUILDING SERVICES
A Guest Lecture on Building Services was organized and it was delivered by Ar. Rajiv Garg, Dean, Golgotia University. He emphasized majorly on the importance of the different services like water supply, drainage, electricity, etc. being employed to make any building functionally viable. He also talked about the new technology being introduced in the same field. Overall, the entire session was interactive and very informative for the students.
